The Insurance Industry

The Chinese investors were the origins of the insurance industry. They used to insure their cargo ships before they sailed the Atlantic Ocean. Their reason was to protect their ships and the contents of the ship or cargo in case they are destroyed in the course of their travel. It is pretty much the same principle as that applied in modern day insurance.
