The Most Expensive 2007 Cars to Insure

Chevrolet Cobalt is number 1 on the list of the Most Expensive to Ensure released by Reuters. But among the Top 20 Selling Autos listed also by Reuters, Chevrolet Cobalt is number 14. It only shows that even if your car is not a bestseller, it does not follow that you can get it insured at a lower premium. Actually, the most expensive car to insure is the Saleen S7 that cost $560,000 and definitely would be expensive to insure. However, you should not base your decision in purchasing to the cost of the insurance. There are other more important things to be considered like car price, comfort, appeal and features of the car.

First is you need Quotes from more than three insurance agents or companies when getting an insurance for your sports car. Some companies may have a different perspective of what a sports car is from other companies. Also, you will need every significant information about your car like the condition of it, anti-lock brakes, automatic seat belts, etc. because that can lower your premium. Do not give wrong information about your car and always be honest with the insurance agent or company. Before purchasing the car, ask the dealer if your car is classified as a sports car. Ask also other sports car owner about their experience in getting insurance.

One major reason to automobile crashes is distracted driving and topping the list of distraction while driving is the use of cell phones. If you use a cell phone while driving may increase your chances of getting involve in a car accident. In the United States, from 4,000 to 8,000 crashes happening everyday are distracted driving related. Reports show that as many as 3 million U.S. crashes every year is being contributed by distracted driving. Actually, distracted driving is an old issue already. Ever since the introduction of windshield wipers in cars in the early 1900s distracted driving have been the topics of discussion.
Public Auto Insurance

In the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Quebec, there is an operated system of automobile insurance owned by the government called Public Auto Insurance. Studies done by the Consumer’s Association of Canada state that the auto insurance in these said provinces charge lower rates than in other places or provinces that use a private auto insurance system. There are other provinces that also opted to introduce public auto insurance systems like the Ontario New Democratic Party. Included in their platform is the operation of public auto insurance. But the government did not approve the policy in 1991 because of the layoffs and lost revenues issues expressed by both the labor and business groups.
